Flexibility. Hybrid. Remote. Agile. Adaptable. These all seem to be the business buzzwords of the moment. In fact, these concepts are what you, our HR and leadership audiences, are reading about the most right now – whether that’s articles on how the people function can make a stronger remote work argument to the executive or which bosses are unsure about flexible work.
Of course, these current ideas are garnering interest – especially considering that the UK is past ‘Freedom Day’ and many HR departments are facing up to a future where structures of work will likely never return to what they were pre-pandemic. Yet, although much of the discussion around flexibility, hybridity and remote is, understandably, after a year of stop-start enforced remote work for many, around where work takes place, true flexibility is much more holisitic. This is what this issue of myGrapevine magazine will explore.
To help, we asked our advisory board HR leaders what HR needs to do in order to make flexible working successful as well as interviewing, for our video feature, senior HR practitioners on what pieces of their strategy need to incorporate flexible thinking in order to properly embed a flexible future. We also caught up with LADbible Group over their new family-centric strategy and, in an exclusive interview, ask SAP about their ‘total flexiblity’ plan. In the cover feature, we also speak to Purplebricks’ Chief People Officer about her approach to change in this world of adaptation and transformation.
As ever, stay safe and enjoy.
